Spring Cleaning to Spring Sale

Every seller wants their home to sell fast and bring top dollar, but it takes more than luck to make this happen! When you partner our proactive marketing approach with a home ready to show- you increase your chances of earning your desired "gold" for the home! Preparing your home for sale takes careful planning and knowing how to professionally spruce up your home so you will convince home buyers that your home is the lucky one! Here are some spring cleaning tips our clients have found most successful:

Disassociate yourself with the home: Remove all personal photos, mail, medication, etc. Buyers should not be able to learn about your lifestyle from touring your home. If you remove personal items, you are able to allow the buyer to picture their family in the environment.

Consider Renting a Storage Unit: Less is more! If you cannot effectively organize your items in closets and the basement, consider renting a storage unit. The small cost you will pay monthly will work itself out when you are able to receive a better offer for your home!

Clean....then Clean again!: We always encourage our clients to clean twice when preparing their home for sale. This allows you to take the cleaning two layers deep and not only clean surface level, but deep clean as well. One of our favorite cleaning hacks is to use furniture polish on your ceiling fan blades. This allows the dust collected to be removed in it's entirety and quickly!

First Impressions Make a Difference: As we start to have our first few warm days in Michigan- consider the exterior of your home. We got a break during winter and did not have to worry about exterior maintenance as much. As the snow begins to melt, take a walk around your property and point out any items that stand out as eye sores. Try to fix as many items as possible before listing your home for sale.

Invite us over!: Don't risk doing unnecessary work! Invite one of our Associates over to take a quick walk through of the property (even if you aren't ready to sell yet!) We will point out things that we believe buyers will notice (and what they won't!) This will allow you to create an effective spring to do list.

Remember, like Jeff says; selling your home is a "price war and a beauty contest!" Fortunately, you have a team on your side with years of experience in selling homes to guide you through the process. Call us at 855.Jeff.Sells to set up a time to meet.
