Kathy has been involved in real estate for over 25 years as an investor, Agent and Associate Broker. Initially investing in the Florida real estate market, Kathy bought and flipped vacant land, condos and single family homes using lots of strategies to create win-win solutions for all parties involved. As the market changed, so did Kathy’s strategies taking her investing to the Michigan market. During the market slowdown of 2008 – 2011, Kathy educated herself on the pros and cons of options available to homeowners losing their homes to foreclosure. She used this knowledge to counsel homeowners and successfully negotiate short sales when this was the best option. Besides being involved in Florida real estate, pre-foreclosure counseling and short sales, Kathy has been involved in 1031 exchanges, lease options, commercial, rental properties and is currently buying and rehabbing houses in southeast Michigan. Kathy is a student of Than Merrill from A & E’s Flip This House and his Fortune Builders community and has just completed Than’s coaching program to give back by educating other investors on how to get started.
Prior to getting involved in real estate, Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Oakland University studying math and physics. Kathy’s first job was at Household Finance working as bookkeeper and head cashier. That was followed by 10 years in the automotive industry working in personnel at Chrysler’s World headquarters. After marrying the love of her life, Kathy joined her husband’s business as comptroller, client trainer and documentation writer. But the most rewarding job for Kathy has been that of wife and mother.
In addition to her real estate career as investor and working with both buyers and sellers, Kathy is active in ALS of Michigan. Every year she forms a team to walk in the Annual Walk to Defeat ALS in memory of her late husband who lost his life to this disease and is a volunteer at their huge annual fundraiser the Legacy of Hope Gala.
Whether working with buyers or sellers, the greatest compliment Kathy has gotten was that her clients never feel that she is pushing them into something that isn’t right for them. Kathy is a firm believer in education and is always reading and learning to keep up to date on the market so that she can offer her clients the best service possible.
